Rico is a laid back shy guy looking for a wonderful family to call his own. Rico unfortunately through no fault of his own has been a bit of a hermit and will need someone who understands how big the world is to a little guy who hasn't really gotten out much. Rico will need a fenced in yard and preferably a home with at least one other dog. Rico has had a bit of a rough start in life and was incredibly afraid of everything except for other dogs. We have had him in our home since mid-November and he has made huge inroads, but is still al little hesitant to trust. He does extremely well with other dogs, likes kids once he gets to know them and is highly intelligent. Rico after all he has been through has never had an accident in the house. He does ok in a crate but does not need it. He has total run of the house and has not chewed up anything, had an accident, or any kind of unacceptable behavior. Rico needs a home where people understand he is not going to instantly warm up to everyone. He will need time, patience and a lot of encouragement. Once he warms up to you though you will see what a wonderful loyal guy he truly is. He has the softest fur, cutest smile and constantly wags at both ends.
