Patches, Patchy, Patchy-Watchy, the best snuggley puppy you could ever ask for You see, it doesnt matter what you call me, Im still just plain old Patches and heres my story. A little while back the people at BREW got a call from a local shelter. They said they had a 9-10 week old female Beagle puppy that had mange and they needed to get her placed. BREW called my foster parents and they went to get me. They thought I had the kind of mange that wasnt contagious but they were wrong. I did have the kind of mange that was contagious so they had to quarantine me from the rest of the doggies in their house. That wasnt very easy for me or for them. I couldnt have any interaction with the other doggies for six whole weeks. My foster parents even had to change their clothes when they picked me up so that the other doggies wouldnt get it too. Well six LONG weeks later and I was allowed with everyone else. My foster parents were a little worried that I wouldnt know how to act like a dog because I hadnt had a lot of doggy interaction. But I calmed their fears and I learned quickly from the alpha females in the house. Well, soon after I recovered from mange I got ringworm (the vet says that it is very common to have both at one time). Unfortunately, since ringworm is SOOO contagious I gave it to every other dog in the house. My foster parents have been working VERY hard to get everybody healthy and free of ringworm. We are almost there and thats why you see me. Im almost ready for my forever home. Im a sweet little girl that loves to play and loves to snuggle. I will rest my head on your shoulder if I am able to. I will also snuggle right up and take a nap. I am working on house training and my foster parents tell me that I am almost there. Sometimes I cant hold it all night and I will have an accident in my kennel but not all the time. My foster parents also have these little things they call cats. I do really well with the one that is dog-friendly; I just want to play with him. The rest of the cats arent very friendly so I dont see them very much.
