Greetings, everyone! My name is Miami, and like the city Im named after, I will bring lots of sunshine into your life! I weigh about 30 lbs. and I am slender and lean. Let me tell you more about how I can brighten your day. I get along with my foster sister, the resident beagle, and will play with her from time-to-time. There are also these small, furry things here called cats. I dont bother with them at all, but sometimes we run into each other. They make this weird, unfriendly sound at me, so I back off. At night, I sleep in my crate. At first, Ill whimper a little, but then I settle down and go to sleep. During the day, Im crated while my foster mommy is at work. I do tend to bark for a while at first, so I may not be suitable to live in an apartment. Im crated for up to 8 hours a day and I have never messed up my crate. When Im let out, watch out! Sometimes, Im so happy to see you that I get the zoomies and go tearing through the house. I will calm down eventually, though. I have a couple of cloudy areas you should know about. When you first come home, I will be so happy to see you that I will jump on you and try to give you a kiss. Sometimes Im so excited to give you kisses that I accidentally head butt you. Oops! My beagle nose also gets me into trouble, so please keep all garbage cans out of my reach! I like to counter surf (stand on my hind legs) in the kitchen to get a better sniff of anything that smells good. Foster mommy uses a spray bottle whenever she catches me misbehaving. I hate that darn spray bottle!!! She says Im a quick learner and that I am on my way to becoming a well-behaved, young lady. I potty outside on a tie out, but I dont always give you a definitive signal that I need to go out. Im on a schedule so foster mommy lets me out every 2 hours or so. Once Im outside, Ill do my business, but I dont always do all of it right away. Ill need to be let out 10-15 minutes later to complete my bathroom trip. Foster mommy will tell you all about it. While Im outside, I tend to bark at people or other dogs walking by. I love, love, love going for walks! I could use some leash training, since I can pull hard. Foster sister and I love to pull foster mommy with all our might. Its quite a sight! I need long walks daily to take care of my built up energy, especially on days when Im in my crate all day. I also love going to the dog park. There, I get along with all types and sizes of dogs. I love to run around while other dogs chase me! Im really fast and others have a hard time keeping up with me. I ride really well in the car, too. I just sit in the back seat and look around. For the most part, Im a pretty laid back girl. I like to be with you all the time, and will follow you around. If youre not in the room with me, Ill wander around looking for you. I love to lie real close to you or on you, and get my belly rubbed or give kisses. I would do best in a home with another dog because I get lonely when Im by myself. I get along with people, including strangers. However, Im not sure how I am with children, since Im never around them. I know sit and will come when you call me. Im also learning the word, off. Id really like to find my forever home.
